This is the original artwork by Matisse.
I started the project with scraps of different color construction paper. Each student was given a piece of white paper, scissors, and a glue stick.
They were instructed to cut different shapes out of multiple colors of paper. Then they were to glue it onto the white paper as they wished.
We then framed the paper with odd shaped orange strips, just like Matisse's work.
The final product was amazing. The kids were so proud of their work and the best part was seeing how they interpreted them.
